Congressman Tom Latham voted against the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) in 2008, asking "Why is Washington so quick to focus on the needs of Wall Street at the cost of those responsible Iowans who have sacrificed, saved and spent within their means? No wonder real America has lost faith in Washington."
In 2009, Latham's family bank accepted $2.4 million in bailout funds, and to date they have paid back none of it. Latham himself owns up to $5 million in the bank's stock.
Congressman Latham has been ducking questions about involvement in his family bank's decision. We're through waiting for answers, and have just one simple request: we want our money back.
